Teen Event
June’s Diverse Reads for Teens Book Club will be meeting Wednesday, June 21st at 4:00 P.M. at the South Parkersburg Library branch. The book being featured this month is You Should See Me in a Crown by Leah Johnson. As part of this group’s intent to highlight diverse titles in Young Adult Fiction, June’s book deals with topics such as intersectionality, poverty, and feeling like an outsider while also falling in love with your rival for prom queen. This book was an honoree for the Stonewall Book Award as well as a Reese’s Book Club YA pick for 2020.
We have a limited amount of physical copies available to check out, but the book is also available on our digital services Hoopla and Libby. We will have popcorn available while we sit and chat about the book. Bring a friend! Read the book, and discuss your thoughts!
