Parkersburg & Wood County Public Library

Connecting Community – Broadening Horizons

Emerson to open again Monday the 21st

The Emerson Library will re-open on Monday August 21st with regular schedule.

Please be aware that this is an active construction site. The side parking lot is being used by the contractor.

Enter the library on the lower level facing 31st Street (below the front entrance). Contractors have fenced off the front doors around the side lot, and back to the corner of the building by the back book drop. The rear book drop will be open for use. North Parkersburg Baptist Church has been gracious enough to allow library patrons to park in the Friendship Kitchen lot across 31st Street from the Library.

Remember that all of the branches will be open, and our friendly neighbors at Vienna Public Library will be happy to help.

We appreciate your patience during the renovations which will continue through the end of the year. We hope to be done with the renovations in early 2018.

Civil Service Testing Site Change

Due to construction, the Library will no longer be a test site for the state civil service examinations.

The WV Division of Personnel has announced that the new testing location will be at WVU-Parkersburg in the Workforce Development Building on 300 Campus Drive in Parkersburg, WV.

Testing days and times will remain the same as before (Thursday mornings at 10 a.m.)

For further information, please contact the Division of Personnel at 304-558-3950.
