County Public Library be the best it can be? Then maybe you should look into joining the
Friends of the Library. We are looking for new members who want to help us improve
the local library and promote literacy in the area.

The Friends will have a weekly Book Sale every Wednesday the Library is open from 12noon to 2pm. The first sale will begin on Wednesday August 19th, 2020. There will be a limit of 5 people at a time. Entrance will be from inside the library on the lower level, and you will exit through the doors on the lower level towards 31st Street.
The Friends of the Parkersburg and Wood County Public Library will meet again September 21st, 2020 at 5:30 pm in the Arboretum at Emerson Library.
The Friends currently usually have two books sales a year, one in the fall and one in the spring. The proceeds from the book sales provide financial support to the Parkersburg & Wood County Public Library by helping to sponsor the Young Readers’ Summer Program, buying new materials, furniture, and computer equipment, and supporting the WV Library Association and the Literacy Volunteers of the Mid-Ohio Valley.

If you would like to become a member of the Friends, please visit the library and fill out a registration form at the circulation desk. Annual membership dues are $2 per person and $5 for a family. We are now offering a lifetime membership for $20 per individual contributor.
