The Wood County Historical and Preservation Society and the Parkersburg and Wood County Public Library cordially invite you to participate in our Spring 2021 History Scavenger Hunt at the Phelps-Tavenner House–WHERE WOOD COUNTY BEGAN!
This is a fun way to learn about the pioneers of Wood County and your local history. Find out more about all the wonderful resources available to you at the Phelps-Tavenner House. Prizes will be awarded to the top winners and you will receive an award certificate for your participation.
The Scavenger Hunts will be held Wednesdays: April 28 & May 5, 10:00 a.m. through 2:00 p.m. and Saturdays: May 1 & May 8, 10:00 a.m. through 2:00 p.m. The Phelps-Tavenner House is located at 2401 Camden Avenue, Parkersburg, West Virginia.
The last day of the Spring 2021 History Scavenger Hunt, May 8, will have an added special celebration: the Phelps-Tavenner House Garden Heritage Day. There will be “garden art treasures” for sale to benefit the WCHPS and Charley Jacobsen, our own Children’s librarian, will be telling garden stories to the children.
