Teachers at Wood County schools are now able to place holds on materials throughout the school year and have those items delivered to them at their schools.
After signing up for the program, teachers simply need to place their requests online through the library’s catalog system. Click on My Account at the top of the page, then log in with your last name, library card number, and PIN. If you don’t remember your PIN or need other information, please call the library at (304) 420-4587.
Once you’ve logged in, you’ll be taken to the My Record page, which lists all of your current checkouts. You can renew the items here, or request something new. To make a new request, click the Search Catalog button (it looks like this)——and search for the book, author, or subject that you need. Once you’ve found it, click on the Request link at the left side of the record.
Since teachers will be checking out many books, you might want to turn on your Reading History to track the titles you’ve already checked out. Under your account, click the My Reading History button, then click the Opt In button on the following screen. This will track your checkouts going forward.
How it works:
Teachers will be able to check out items for the usual three week period (DVDs can be checked out for two weeks at a time).
Turnaround time from date of request to date of receipt should be between 3-5 business days.
Notifications will be sent by email when items become past due, but no fines or fees will be assessed. However, replacement costs will be charged for lost or damaged items.
The teacher will be responsible for the items.
In order to utilize the service, you will need a valid library card, an e–mail address you use at the school, and a PIN number.
Please contact the library in advance if you will need materials for a specific subject, book report, or summer reading list.
Please be aware when requesting books that others may be teaching the same curriculum in the same time period, so kindly do not request every item we have on a subject at one time.
